If not Apple, let’s take Samsung!
This is the core mentality of the Indian consumer. That’s mainly because of the trust the Indian consumer has on the brand.
This makes Samsung price its smartphones relatively higher as opposed to smaller brands.
2016 was a disastrous year for Samsung! If you can remember the Note 7 fiasco, it literally put the brand to shame as one by one all their devices started exploding.
Samsung issued an apology and worked hard to develop its next successor.
In the year 2017, Samsung launched two new devices, the Galaxy S8, and the Galaxy Note 8.
Both these devices just performed okay in the market as their pricing was exorbitant. Samsung also announced it’s Bixby assistant for Samsung S8. But, nevertheless, it hardly made a difference.
Its flagship phone had bugs and exhibited lag despite having specifications like these:
|Processor||2.45 GHz Octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895(EMEA)|
|ROM||64 GB internal with microSD support up to 256 GB|
|Display||5.8-inch Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla glass 5|
|Camera||12 MP (f/1.7, 26mm, 1/2.5″, 1.4 µm, Dual Pixel PDAF) and OIS and 8 MP front camera|
|OS||Android 7.0 (Nougat)|
|Sensors||Iris scanner, fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, heart rate, SpO2|
Despite having good specifications, Samsung S8 failed to deliver that value for money factor.
This has indeed lead to the rise of brands like Huawei and LG who announced their flagship devices, the LG G6 and Honor 8 pro.
What’s Samsung Planning for 2018?
No matter whatever the bugs are, Samsung is still the most sought-after phone and every tech enthusiast looks forward to its next launch.
Going with our sources, Samsung is definitely launching the Galaxy S9.
How are we so sure?
Like every other year, This is what has leaked today:
This image clearly shows that Samsung is planning to launch S9 way sooner than we expected. DJ Koh, the chief of Samsung mobile has clearly stated in the news conference that the brand will be launching two new devices, Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ at the Mobile World Congress.
if you’re unaware, Mobile World Congress is an event held every year, wherein smartphone and gadget fans across the world throng to witness the best in the mobile technology before anybody else.
Since the phone will be revealed next month in MWC, it’s safe to assume that this might be the original box packaging of Samsung S9.
There are surely other variants of the S9, and we’ll post them as soon as they’re leaked.
The box packaging shows almost legit specifications like the 64GB memory and 4GB RAM
5.8 inch Quad HD+ AMOLED display, IP68 water and dust resistant, 8mp front camera along with wireless charging support.
The box also claims a super slow-mo camera. In terms of slow motion, no phone can beat Sony Xperia XZ premium which boasts of shooting the video at 960fps. We can assume that the S9 will be capable of overtaking Sony this time with 1000fps.
As far as the camera is concerned, Samsung will equip S9 with a 12mp dual pixel shooter with Optical image stabilization being the obvious feature.
This camera will be capable of switching its apertures from F/2.4 to F/1.5 as Samsung has already launched a flip phone last month which was capable of doing this.
Now coming to the heart of the device, the processor. As you all know Samsung develops it’s in-house Exynos chipsets. So, the Galaxy S9 is said to have the latest Exynos
9810 chip. Whereas in some regions, we may also get to see the Galaxy S9 equipped with Snapdragon 845 chipset.
That’s it for Samsung’s leaks. The coming days will be more interesting as more leaks will roll in, which may either confirm or contradict our claims.
Which feature do you look forward to Samsung’s S9?
